Sydney-town

Hi guys!
I'm in my hotel room (it's really more of a closet but I'm just happy to have a little corner of the world to myself, ESPECIALLY such a comfy bed....ok, anyway) yes, so I'm in the room, just woke up a bit ago, it's 7:15 am in Australia on SUNDAY, yes, I'm writing to you from the future. It's very sunny, warm and bright in the future so keep your chin up, chilly Canadians. I'm sure you're warm weather is just around the.....well, it won't be there for a while but don't lose hope! Or, even better, just come visit me and we'll bask in the warmth together!
So, landed yesterday, the flight was surprisingly awesome. Qantas is the best airline I've ever flown with, even beating out Westjet! Upon getting on the plane that would be flying for 19.5 hours (HOW is that possible????) I had a cozy blanket, pillow, sleeping mask, access to all kinds of great movies and tv on demand (well the TV was mostly british/australian but I learned a lot about building sustainable housing and, being the dork that I am, also watched a tourism video for Adelaide so, yes, my flight was educational).
I had the coveted window seat with a mom/daughter duo beside me. Being the frequent urinator that I am (gross, I'm sorry but true) I was in the predicament of having to make them get out of their seats ona  pretty regular basis. I was sure this would foster some sort of animosity between us but they ended up being really nice and accomodating, they are both from Adelaide so I got some more first hand tips from them too.
Ummm, let's see. I landed in Sydney to a muggy, rainy day, took the airport shuttle right to the door of my hotel and check in was a breeze. I booked it to the nearby McDonalds to send off a couple 'I'm here and ok' emails but the connection was absurdly terrible! I tried to post some stuff on facebook but I still have no idea if it every finished loading and posted haha.
The rest of the day brightened up considerably, actually completely! Sunshine was everywhere and really hot, I explored all around my hotel and across this pedestrian bridge over a super busy highway to explore more of the "downtown" (Actually, it probably wasn't THE downtown of Sydney but it sure looked like it, lacking wifi I couldn't really research ahead of time so I took a chance.) I was down by the Botanical Gardens (Beautiful!!!) and toured some of the shops on, oh shoot, I forget the name of the street, I think it was something like Market St. and there was an Elizabeth and Parks street in there too.
I wasn't really in the mood to spend money so only bought a lavender bath bomb from lush to have in my bath later that day. I picked up some fruit from the grocers and then laid out in a park near my hotel reading, eating and taking tons more pictures.
It was a really awesome day, it would have been even nicer to have shared it with someone, a thought I had after realizing I hadn't spoken a single word aloud in HOURS (so unusual!). I was pretty pooped but surprised myself by staying up til 9pm after having only a few hours of sleep on the flight.
Today I'm off to Aunt Lindas, I can't WAIT!!! I catch the train at 10am and I'm very excited for the scenery along the way.
Love you all!
