Hi y'all!
I'm at Pearson, looking out at a blindingly white snowy-winter wonderland while I bask in the greatness of free wifi-yahoo! I just made it through customs after saying goodbyes and giving big hugs to Dad and Breezy, so sad but also very excited! I was interrogated by a no-nonsense, large, terrifying man who drilled out questions like he was on a time limit (actually, I guess he was haha).
"Where do you live?"
"Umm, Canada..."
"You sound unsure, are you sure that's where you live?!?!"
"Well, uh, yeah it is, but I'm currently on my way to move to Sydn-I mean, Adelaide Australia"
"Sydney or Adelaide?? Which is it?!?!"
"Adelaide."
"You sure about that? Where you flying in?"
And on, and on, it was a relief when he finally let me proceed and I actually got a little smile out of him by the end (a pity smile I'm sure but that counts for something, right?)
Anyway, I have been deemed non-threatening enough to fly into Dallas so onward I go, into cowboy land and gasoline-guzzling giants....well, that's how I imagine it anyway: loud, brash, VERY "American" people. I'll give you an update as soon as I land.
Love you all!
awwwwww glad you're there safely! The ride home was weird, when we left the airport is was snowing but there was blue sky and we had patches of insane whiteouts between the times when sun was shining in our eyes. Mom just read me your email and I just read your blog lol so funny about that security guard - those Americans gotta intimidate the terrorists I guess (and not being sure of your home country is pretty suspicious) hahahaha can't wait to see your pics!! Love love love, B
ReplyDeleteps - love that pic of you (I assume) doing that bridge pose thing! Lemme guess, Henry took it?
